Simulcasting

Being able to distribute video and audio feeds over the Internet is becoming increasingly important to broadcasters and media companies who already operate satellite TV or radio channels. For this reason, Castor has started to offer simulcasting services to its satellite broadcasting customers.

Mindful of the legal constraints in rebroadcasting live video and audio feeds over the Internet, Castor can provide blackout (eg removal or advertising or programs) and insertion (insertion of new advertising or programs) services. Furthermore, using a state-of-the-art transcoding platform, Castor is able to simulcast a single audio or video feed towards any device connected to the Internet whether it be a Set-Top-Box (STB), Mobile phone or Desktop PC.

Key Features:

  • Video codecs: H.263, MPEG-4, H.264/AVC, Windows Media 9 Video;
  • Audio codecs: HE-AAC via RTMP, AAC-LC, AAC-LTP, AMR-NB, G.711, Windows Media 9 Audio;
  • 24/7 Real-Time statistics for monitoring and customer billing.
